Our
Process
It is a fact that Electro Osmotic Damp Proofing drives, damp out of walls but many do not understand how this is achieved.
Water transport in the capillaries takes place via, what is
termed charge carriers. The direction of transport of fluid
is always determined by by the direction of the electrical
field and by the polarity of the double layer present in the
capillary.
With regard to the damp wall, the term Osmosis therefore refers
to the fact that water transport is effected through a difference
in potential.
If electrical voltage is applied to a thoroughly damp medium,
the result is an intensified movement of the charge- carrier-
water in the capillaries.
The positively charged ions of the electrical
double layer wander in the direction of the negative electrode.
For the drying out of damp walls this principle can certainly
be designated as one of the most elegant methods.
In masonry, water rises even against the force of gravity
and with Electro-Osmosis exactly the opposite effect is gained.
This process forces the dampness back into
the foundation of the building and into the surrounding ground
area.
